Hi friends!  I’m back today featuring another really talented blogger, Rachel with Shades of Blue Interiors.  She’s a mama of 3 and lives in a suburban St. Louis home, which she and her hubby have really renovated and made better.  She’s got a sweet vintage style and the girl can build too.  There’s a lot of talent in blogland with these DIYer’s and all the projects they do.  Rachel has such a good eye for styling too, so enjoy her beautiful home tour.

As a blogger, I get a lot of emails that come through my inbox and this one from Country Living got my attention when it mentioned the new Country Living Lake house on Lake Martin, AL.  I’ve been to this lake a few times and it is absolutely gorgeous!  There’s a whole spread on Country Living online that you can check out for more details, but here’s the short version, text from the magazine:

Country Living Lake House of the Year, is a collaboration with Nashville architect Jonathan Torode (Pfeffer Torode Architecture), builder Chad Calhoun (Classic Homes), and Russell Lands On Lake Martin, a high-end real estate developer on this Alabama lake, just two hours from Birmingham, and roughly 2.5 from Atlanta.

This week is still off schedule, but I did manage to get a new Feature Friday going today. Today’s feature is a really sweet lady named Marty, who blogs at A Stroll Thru Life. She has been blogging for a few years now and just moved into a new house la…

Today’s Feature Friday is a little bit different from what I normally share, but I happen to be a fan of designer James Wheeler, so when I got an email from his PR firm asking to feature him, I said OK, let’s do that.  She sent along some of his latest designs, a residence he designed and the Serebe showhouse that he was part of as well. I have seen some of  his designs here in show houses in Atlanta and have admired his work from afar.  It’s always nice to see how designers do things and then we can get ideas from them.

I love design whether it’s high-end or normal down to earth design, which is what I share here on my blog most of the time. That’s where I live my life, but I also enjoy seeing what designers put together and a more luxury designed home as well.  So today, enjoy some creations by James Wheeler of J Wheeler Designs as my Feature Friday.

I’ve been so excited to share this back porch project with all of you and we had to wait until we had the green light to share, so today is the day!  I’m joining 9 other bloggers and we all have fantastic projects to share with all of you, so I hope you’ll take the time to visit them too.

This all started a few months ago when I was asked if I had a project I’d like to work on with the help of some really great sponsors backing us, Birch Lane, The Mine, and Minted (affiliate links)  My back porch came to mind as definitely needing a spruce up.  It was nice, but the faux wicker I had out here for years was bought for a deck in mind and it wasn’t the cozy comfy seating I was really looking for on my porch.  I shared all the plans on this post and now you get to see it all finished!

Decorating with Wallpaper

On June 25, 2017 By

We haven’t talked about this subject in awhile, so let’s dish wallpaper today!

Wallpaper has gotten a bad rap over the years.  Believe me, I get it too.  I have had my share of wallpaper that turned ugly, from green ivy cascading over the walls in my kitchen, to a classical Tuscan look in my bathrooms, with faux finishes and urns.  Ugh!  I thought it was SO pretty back then, but when I look back at it now, it’s laughable.  But, that doesn’t mean I’m totally turned off to wallpaper.  I do still like it in small doses and who knows, I might use it again in the future in certain spots.

Here are a few wallpapers I saw on BHG that I really loved the look. See what you think and if you might be ready to tackle wallpaper again.  I would use it in a bathroom to really amp it up into something special and cozy.  I love it as an accent wall in a certain room to add pizazz to a space.  I wouldn’t use it in large doses, but here and there, yes!

Happy Friday to y’all!  And welcome to another Feature Friday.  This week I’m introducing you to Erica, with Designing Vibes.  She is just up the interstate from me in Chattanooga, TN and she has a beautiful blog full of inspiration on fixing up houses.  She and her hubby bought their first house, a brand new Craftsman style, but decided later on that they wanted to cut costs so she could stay home with their 2 boys and they sold that home and bought an 80’s fixer upper which they’ve been working on for the last 2 years. I admire that so much and I know you will love seeing what they’ve done to their house to really update  it and make it beautiful. Erica has a gorgeous Boho style and is colorful and patterned and really enhances their home.  I think you’re going to enjoy this one!  And Erica was just featured in this month’s I Did It column for Better Homes and Gardens for her innovative pendant light shades over her kitchen island, so take note of that.

Welcome to another Feature Friday!  I’m back today with another blogger, Julie Blanner, who blogs at the same name and who has an easy, casual, classic style that I just love. You’ll get lost in her pics and her simple, yet impactful way of decorating her house. She’s not into a lot of stuff, but the things she displays are classic and beautiful.  I love getting back to traditional and classic roots and want to go that direction more myself.  It’s always in style and just feels and looks so good!  Enjoy this beautiful home tour of Julie’s home in the Midwest. She’s been blogging almost as long as I have and she started her own events planning company right out of college, but then parlayed that into her beautiful lifestyle blog, where she shares recipes, simple living, entertaining, and home design ideas.
