One of my favorite projects to date has been our Dutch barn door.   Anyone who sees it loves it (and I am not just saying that cuz I love it)!   A Dutch door is just so whimsical, then add the barn door styling and it is just awesome!  But one thing has bothered [...]

In my last post I mentioned that things have been B-U-S-Y around here lately {life, merger at work, blah, blah, blah}.  Sadly, that means the blog has taken a backseat, but have no fear…we tried are darnedest to keep up with house-related projec…

It’s only natural that over time your personal taste will evolve, I know it’s certainly been true for me. My overall goal here on the blog is to help you learn to embrace your space – no matter what kind, no matter your budget, no matter your skill set. Overlooking the little things in your home is easy to do, like this hallway shelf. It was one of the very first projects I ever posted. Four years ago my home was a little more country, and now I’d like to think that it’s a little more rock-and-roll  contemporary. Not over the top, uber contemporary, but more like fresh, contemporary farmhouse. There’s a million and one little things that I overlook almost every day, most of them never really catch my attention. When Lowe’s asked me to try their new Pantone Color of the Year Emerald paint, I was kinda stumped. However, my black and white laundry room could definitely use a bit of color, so I decided to makeover a shelf!

National Painting Week

On April 16, 2013 By

We’ve been pretty busy with projects lately.  I just showed you the flooring in our living room this weekend.  That was a huge step in cleaning up and unifying the look of our house, but there is still a lot to go.  For the most part our living room is livable, well actually it is [...]

On Friday, our puppy friend Chick of Love and a Six-Foot Leash showed off the newest addition to his family’s collection of pet portraits – Dora! You may remember when Chick’s mom, Aleks, shared her fostering story with us years ago, and since then, she’s kept this girl busy painting not only her pups, but [...]
