Over at The OhOh Blog, Ama has an incredibly creative upcycling project to share. She turned lids from old perfume bottles into pretty coat hooks!

Over at Anna & Co., this dated piece of artwork had been gathering dust in the back of a closet somewhere in Anna’s house. Noticing it’s large size and sturdy frame one day, she decided it was time to join in the chalkboard craze.

“While at the thrift store about a year ago, I found a pair of scuffed up white ballet flats that looked pretty sad but fit quite nicely,” says Autum of It’s Always Autumn. She brought them home, but confesses, “I stuck them in my closet, and promptly forgot about them!”

Over at The Weathered Door, Reeves tells us, “I had some different pieces lying around that I loved, but had no practical purpose.” In her garage, there was a fun-but-broken mid-century mod side table and a vintage suitcase. One day inspiration struck, and Reeves realized the two could be one.

Here’s a nifty little upcycling project that is perfect for keeping kids busy over summer break. This was dreamed up by Noreen at Crafty Journal, and only requires a couple items that you most likely already have on hand.

Hani blogs at Craftionary. Recently, she figured out how to turn an old bamboo placemat into pretty bamboo coasters. ”This is the easiest DIY project ever!” she tells us. ”These coasters are great for indoor as well as outdoor use. The quality of material used makes it easy to clean with just a wet wipe.”

Over at Architecture of a Mom, Rachel was looking for some fun, colorful abstract art for a wall in her kitchen. She decided to use an old fan of paint chips to create just the art piece she wanted.

Cassie blogs at The Penny-Wise Mommy. She came across this nightstand in the clearance pile at a thrift shop. ”The top was severely damaged but the piece itself was high quality so I decided I couldn’t go wrong if I brought it home,” she says.

At The Experimental Home, Laura had a couple of deck chairs that were in great condition, but were looking a little…drab. She decided it was time to give them a makeover.

When Alecia of Chicken Scratch came across this chair, it was destined for the dump. It took a lot of scrubbing before she could find the pretty carved details under layers of dirt.
